Correction on 8 January 2020: the data from years 1980, 1982, 1987 and 1990 has been corrected to correspond to the official cause of death statistics dated 16 December 2019. Prior to 1936, homicide figures by gender do not include infanticides. Infanticides are included in the total homicide rate throughout the time series. PLEASE NOTE! The data have been updated on 10 January 2014. Previously retrieved data does not include infanticides. The information has been collected by the Institute of Criminology and Legal Policy from the statistics gathered by Veli Verkko and Statistics Finland.
